Applications are invited from eligible male candidates for direct recruitment of Constable (Band) in Railway Protection Force (RPF).

Vacancies: Total number of assessed vacancies is 07. The category-wise break-up is SC-1, OBC-2, and UR-4.

Band equipment –wise vacancies are as under:

• Clarinet 03
• Trombone 01
• Tenor Saxophone 01
• Euphonium 01
• Bass 01

Pay Scale: Pay Band PB-1 Rs.5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs.2000/- with various allowances as applicable from time to time.

Eligibility:

1. Must be a citizen of India (Only male citizens are eligible)
2. Educational/Technical qualifications:
   (i) Candidates should be Matriculation pass or equivalent examination conducted by a recognised Board; and
   (ii) 2 years experience in operational use of specified musical instrument. Ex-servicemen holding certificate in military music shall be permitted.
3. Age: Between 18 and 27 years (Relaxable for Government servants upto the age of 40 years in case of General candidates, upto 43 in case of OBC candidates and upto 45 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government from time to time.
4. Post of Constable (Band) has not been identified as suitable for persons with disabilities and hence these posts have been exempted from the purview of Section 33 and 47 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995.

Application fee: All candidates are required to send application fee of Rs.50/- (Rupees fifty only) in the form of crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Bank Draft in favour of Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer (FA&CAO), Central Railway, Mumbai CST. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST category and Ex-servicemen are exempted from payment of application fee.

Note: (i) Cash, money order, cheque, central recruitment fee stamps etc will not be accepted. (ii) Fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted. (ii) Date of issue of Postal order or Bank draft should not be before the date of notification.

How to apply: (a) Application forms can be downloaded from Indian Railways official website www.cr.indianrailways.gov.in, taken from the Employment News or other relevant newspapers. The application forms may be submitted on A 4 size bond paper using one side only and sent to Chief Security Commissioner/RPF, Post Box  No. 12 GPO, Mumbai CST-400 001. (b) The applications should be filled in by the candidates only in Hindi or English in their own handwriting with signature in normal handwriting and left hand thump impression of candidates. Applications signed in capital letters/spaced out letters will be treated as invalid. (c) Coloured photograph (3.5 cms x 4.5 cms) should be pasted at the appropriate place with clear front view of the face without cap and sun glasses
